Thoughts from Blue Chip Students and Alumni

Blue Chip was the most valuable experience I have had in my life so far! The program taught me a lot about myself and the world of leadership. Also because of this program I have so many amazing friends who helped to shape me in to the person I have become today. I am forever grateful to Mr. Terry Thompson for creating a program that was such an important part of my life for five years and that will always hold a special place in my heart!

Blue Chip was an amazing experience that gave me great tools for success in everything I have done since graduation. Being a Blue Chip graduage not only helped me get the job and get into graduate school, the fundamentals taught in the program helped me excel in each as well.

Blue Chip is a way of life . . . it is learning to lead and follow. Blue Chip gives back to you every inch of energy you put into it. Blue Chip is a place to make friendships that cross ethnic lines and develop your own personal leadership style.

When I look back on my college experience, Blue Chip stands out as my most significant experience. I was my home base on campus, and it was a great place to meet people who had similar interests and values as I did. Through Blue Chip, I gained confidence, great abilities to work in a group and lead a team, direction in my life, and lifelong friendships. It is so neat to see all of the great innovations in the program, and if I could, I would do it all over again!

The Blue Chip program is a leadership program that provides many opportunities for you to interact with and learn from other students of many diverse backgrounds, to get involved on campus and in the community, as well as the opportunity for self growth and leadership development. The program is what you make of it-pursue as many of the opportunities provided that you can.

Blue Chip will allow you to make lifelong friends, provide great opportunities to get involved in the community, develop yourself as a life-long learner, get involved in U of A, and get good leadership experience.

Blue Chip is a great opportunity to learn more about yourself.  It provides you with opportunites to get involved in the campus and the community you are able to gain new leadership skilld and enhance the ones that you already have.

Blue Chip cares about everyone's personal development and works to get members to build skills that will matter for the rest of their life: leadership, service, teambuilding, communication, social skills, etc.

Blue Chip is a leadership program where you start learning skills and techniques and apply them in the later years.

My favorite Blue Chip memory was planning and attending a service event.

Blue Chip has given me the opportunity to make great friendships and help me grow as an individual.  I loved getting to know my team members and volunteering with them as well.

I think the Blue Chip program allows you to learn so much about yourself and others through teambuilding, personality testing, community service, and more.  Through my experience so far, I have found what type of leader I and and how I can work on my leadership skills to develop into an even better leader.  I think Blue Chip helps you step out of the box and really figure out who you are!  I am more aware of how to be inclusive toward others, how to encourage others to get involved, how to manage my time, how to run group meetings, how to adapt to different personality types and so much more thatI could go on for hours describing,  I think what you put into Blue Chip is definitely what you get out of it, which is so unique about the program...because everyone can have their own experience.  The program teaches you life long skills that one can continue to work on and maintain throughout their future no matter what their career goals entail.

Your Blue Chip experience will become what you make it become.  If you sit back and let things happen, you will not learn and grow in the program.  If you take the challenge to get more involved by being part of different groups, you will learn valuable leadership skills that will help you after college.
